The stage was set at Edgbaston, Birmingham, for one epic clash between India and Pakistan in the final of the World Championship of Legends. Cricket fans around the world held their breath as these veterans fought it out for glory.
Pakistan Struggle in the Early Stage
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat, but their top order didn’t really fire. Good support from experienced campaigner Irfan Pathan saw Indian bowlers coming back after an initial good partnership in the opening overs. Though at times it looked a totally different day with some innovative shots from senior Pakistani batsmen like Younis Khan, they couldn’t capitalize on the stand. They finally posted 156/7 on the board after 20 overs of play.
India’s Controlled Chase
In pursuit of a stiff target that looked quite gettable, the Indian batting was at a good mix of aggression and caution. Robin Uthappa got them off to a flier with a quick 65, in his usual belligerent style of batting. The middle order under Ambati Rayudu and with ample support from Yuvraj Singh’s excellent performance kept India in charge throughout the chase.
Yusuf Pathan played a part towards the end with his quick 30 from just 16 balls having three sixes to his credit. This contributed to India’s win by a margin of five wickets, finishing it with five balls in hand—to the delight of the Indian fans.

Indian Legends’ Dominant Performance
This win was truly an indication of the brilliance reflected by the Indian Legends team. Their bowlers were too hot to handle for the Pakistani batsmen, whereas the batsmen on fire batted with skill and power towards the set target.
Magical Moment for Cricket Lovers
WCL 2024 final really was such a test of the spirit of this game. It will be such an amazing nostalgic trip to go down memory lane, watching greats weave their magic once again. Surely, Team India’s conquest will go down as yet another achievement en route to a golden cricketing legacy.
